Clue#1: Find the tri-state marker for the spot where the states of NY, CT, and MA meet. (this is the tough part!)

Clue#2: Stand with your back to the corner of NY and CT (you should be facing a path at roughly 190*). Take 13-16 paces along this trail. (a pace here is two steps. Daddy Rabbit counted 13, and Mommy Rabbit counted 16...).

Clue#3: Stop at a large moss-covered rock on the right side of the trail. Across the rock are two trees growing close together. Between and slightly behind these trees, under several rocks and wrapped in a bit of burlap, is "A Tri-State of Mind".

Helpful hints:
You will be quite close to the highest point of the state of CT.
You will also be close to the highest point in Dutchess County (Mount Brace). The view from here is incredible!!
A map would help quite a lot (there are lots of unmarked trails intersecting up here - and although we ran into a few knowlegeable hikers at key points, you shouldn't count on that) http://www.nynjtc.org/
A site we found most helpful: http://home.earthlink.net/~ellozy/mount-frissell.html

We ran across a fellow who had hiked these trails often, who told us that during blueberry season he can sit and eat until he's full - lots of bushes around!

We'd love to hear your comments about this box!
