This box is in honor of the Amish families who have been moving into Otsego County in the past few years. Because I wished to respect their privacy, I did not plant this box extremely near Amish homes. But if you continue down the road, and drive around you may see some of my Amish neighbors. On Fridays and Saturdays, some families sell baked goods from their homes. For rugs and quilts, you will have to drive to nearby Montgomery Country and look for the black-and-white signs in Pallatine Bridge. Please be sensitive to Amish traditions, and don't be a big idiot like me. Somehow I forgot to consider that wearing a strappy tank top was not the most appropriate thing to do when visiting Amish homes! My friends still tease me for "dissing the Amish."
This box is an easy drive-by, just off the corner of Route 20 and VanAlstine Road in Springfield. Several other boxes are located nearby.
You will find this little box nestled in a crevice above the large stone to the right of the gate of the old graveyard on VanAlstine Road.
