The Meadowbrook neighborhood is aptly named -- it has several meadows and several brooks. This trail goes behind Meadowbrook Community Center, on 35th Ave NE.
You don't need to go into the center. Instead, go around to the back (follow the sidewalk to the right of the front doors and stay close to the building).
NOTE: The following trail can be muddy, so wear sturdy shoes.
When you get to the trailhead, take the wooden bridge to the left. You'll soon see two stones in the brook. Step across them and go up the hill, climbing on the roots.
In the meadow, go right and walk past the huge twin evergreens (they'll be on your left). Look ahead on the right for a trail down, which will pass on the right side of a younger evergreen. You'll have a view of the baseball diamonds up here, but watch your footing -- lots of roots.
Cross the brook again, and at the fork take a right. Continue along the trail -- you'll see a flat rock in the path -- until you see another set of stones at the brook. Don't cross -- go left instead into the trees. Look for the end of the chain-link fence and find an evergreen to its left. The box is at its base.
Getting back to the community center is quick: you can turn left at the small tipped-over tree and cross the stream where there's a board. Another 50 feet or so and you've made the loop!
