This is a very special box that was created and placed by some very special people. There is a dear letterboxer that everyone that knows, truly enjoys being around. That is the very dear Butterfly. She is such a beautiful person. To find what makes her such a beautiful person, find the box and read the log book. She is an inspiration to all of us.
You will need to bring markers/ink pad with you.
This hike starts at the summit of Case Mountain in Manchester, CT. That's right, the summit. There are many ways to get there, and it really doesn't matter which one you choose-(you may want to look at clues for other boxes there and decide though).
Once you have enjoyed the beautiful view at the summit and rested from the trek up as well as had a snack and drink you can begin your journey for the box.
Stand with Hartford behind you and find the trail that would interest Inspector Clousseau, passing "Tom Ackley's" bench on the way.
Continue on this trail, passing a vernal pool on the left, until you reach a five (5) way intersection. At this intersection go straight and then quickly veer to the left to go on the "Grey Trail".
As you walk along the Grey Trail you will pass an old chimney/firelace on your right and then start up hill and go through some turns. When you level out again start looking for a LARGE rock on the right that is about fifteen (15) feet off of the trail. Stop here.
Look to your left and you will see two (2) small rocks and then two (2) big rocks in a crooked row. Go to the first large rock and look under it for the box. It is buried under quite a few small rocks. Please be sure to re-hide this box well.
