The series is back! Thanks to Andrea for replacing Boxes 2 and 3 - play ball!

This series is in celebration of our trip to baseball Mecca and features our hometown “Dream Teams”.

Clues: Find your way to Cooperstown, home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Even though there are lots of people around the area all the time, and there are no extensive public parks in town, we just had to place some boxes in Cooperstown. These boxes are basically drive-bys, so help us preserve the box sites by moving about and conducting your search stealthily. Can you figure out our favorite teams?

Box 1 – Every year the Hall of Fame game is played at Doubleday Field in the heart of Cooperstown. Find your way to the field and take a look inside at this historic ballpark. Next, find the Cooperstown Tourist and Information Center just west of the field. As you approach the tourist center from the rear, you’ll see a sign on the back of the building identifying the Information Center. Facing the sign, head for the right corner of the building and look behind the evergreens planted in the wood planter. There you’ll find "Brooks’ Box".

Box 2 - Now you must make your way to Council Rock at the corner of River and Lake streets. Find the “marker that signifies the point where the beautiful Susquehanna River begins its 444 mile journey to meet the Chesapeake Bay”. Due east, right in front of you is a tree stump sloping toward the river. Nestled in the roots on the backside of the stump "Frank’s Box" waits, covered by some slate. Please rehide very well. This is a popular area for muggle children to play.

Box 3 – Now go back over where you see the plaque for Council Rock and find the arrow pointing due North. From the tip of the arrow, at 230*, head 8 paces (2 steps to a pace) up the hill to a round, flat resting place. Just in front of this resting place, concealed by 3 bricks, you will find "The I95 Series", or our version of the perfect game!

Hope you enjoyed the series. Write to us at girlguides@toadmail.com and let us know what would be your baseball dream game!
