*** I just adopted this letterbox. Please be patient with me for it may take me some time to get up there to replace/repair the box. Thanks so much for understanding. ***

Yours in 'boxing,

South of Sedona, AZ, in the Village of oak Creek, begin at the intersection of HWY 179 and Verde Valley School Road. Drive west on Verde Valley School Road to the stop sign at Bell Rock Blvd.

Continue through the stop sign on Verde Valley School Road for 4 miles. ( At the 2.8 mile point the paved road will turn into a good gravel road.)

When you see a sign that says "Dead End", look for the next sign that says "PARK - no parking permitted beyond this point" with an arrow pointing to the left. Park in that parking lot. (You will need a Red Rock Pass or a National Park pass.)

Walk across Verde Valley School Road and get on the trail at the trailhead.

At a leisurely pace, walk about six minutes. You will pass several cairns (stacked red rocks with wire over them).

Watch for the cairns -
1st is hard to see and on the right
2nd is in center of the trail
3rd is on the left of th trail
4th is on the right of the trail
5th is on the left of the trail
6th is on the right of the trail
7th is on the right and hard to see if grass is high

When you find the 8th cairn on the right (immediately after a deep curving gulch on your left) , put your back to the cairn and look in the direction of a dead tree across the gulch. Then find the pine tree straight ahead of you on this side of the gulch.

To find the letterbox, look in the center of the large scrub oak bush to the right of the pine tree.
