Box Owner Status Report: 6/20/2020 - Box is in excellent condition

Directions:

A green dinosaur protects the entrance to this area and all treasures within.
It is located ~2/10 mile from the neighboring Commonwealth.
The name of the area suggests a bird of prey.

Clues:

A short distance from the dinosaur sits a kiosk with a map board and guest book. It is not necessary to have a map of the area to find this box, but you may wish to keep the map for your records.

Starting at the dinosaur, hike 35° until you reach the tail of the metallic serpent.

Continue hiking until you reach the serpent’s leg that matches the letter count of this area’s name.

A prominent white pine sits on the shoreline due north. Take care to avoid compass interference.

Twelve paces past the pine you will find a small clearing on the shoreline.

Scan across to the opposite shore at 325° to another small clearing. This marks a favorite resting place.

Make your way to the shoreline path. If you locate the shortcut to the path you will not have to return to the park shelter to pick up the path.

Hike the path until you reach the favorite resting place. Passing the second wooden bridge means you hiked too far.

From the favorite resting place, a birdhouse is easily visible at 154°.

Hike 64 paces at 300° to a tall oak. Look in the basement for the treasure.

NOTES: 1) This box will be planted and maintained from 1 April to 31 October. 2) Most of this hike is on open ground and paths. 3) During certain times of the year, this area may be very wet. 4) Respect all area rules and regulations.
