Strollers: Yes
Dogs: Yes on leash
Difficulty: 1
Time: 30 minutes round trip
This park is at the foot of the Coronado Bay Bridge on the Coronado side. Park in the lot and find the cement walkway that borders the bay.
Just east of the playground find a sign titled "The Big Bay". Turn northwest and follow the path with the park on your left and the bay on your right. At the fifth (5th) lamp post take the cement path westward (take the left fork of the "Y"). At the next fork in the path, continue west (take the right fork). Continue till you get to the street (Glorieta Blvd.)
Find the very large white candy cane :). Turn left and follow the sidewalk to three large coral trees surrounded by natal plumb shurbs (prickly) protecting a sign proclaiming "Coronado Tidelands Park."
Orient yourself with your back touching the back of the sign in the exact middle of the sign. You should be facing the baseball fields and your car. Take two paces. The letterbox is hidden well back in the bushes between two large boulders under leaves.
Please replace well back in the bushes as this location is well maintained by a landscape crew.
Enjoy your day on the beautiful "Island" of Coronado.
