Your starting point is at the Mt. Erie Summit Viewpoint in Mt. Erie Park near Anacortes. From Hwy. 20, south of Anacortes traveling toward Deception Pass, take the Campbell Lk. Rd. west approxiamately 2 miles to the Campbell Lk./Heart Lk. Rd. intersection. Turn N. on the Heart Lk. Road and travel approximately 1.5 miles to the Mt. Erie Summit Rd. on the east side of the Heart Lk. Rd. Drive to the summit parking area.
Find and read the Jonathan Glass Memorial marker. Head south towards the viewpoint along the drive and cement sidewalk. When the sidewalk turns east, turn west on the small, overgrown, brushy, dirt trail. Continue west past two fir trees to a small clearing with several trees. The viewpoint will be to the SE, and communication towers with fence will be to the N and NW. There is a large boulder, 3x3x5, about 12 ft. west of the two large fir trees. Between this boulder and the two firs you will find the letterbox on the N side of the trail between two large rocks.
