Drive under the wrought iron archway on Merrill Road and make a right at the letterbox in mourning. Park your car at the telephone pole.
Stand at the mouth of a faded road and note all the obelisks before you. Cleopatra’s pin cushion? You will make your way to the Egyptian ruler of the afterlife one obelisk at a time.
At 85 degrees, go to the obelisk dated 1856.
215 degrees, 1863
223 degrees, 1878
344 degrees, 1876
128 degrees, 1870
132 degrees, behind a sandstone rock that appears to be cleaved in 2 within the wall. (Please note this wall gets pretty overgrown in the summer.)
Isis
Go back to the first obelisk. Take a bearing of 64 degrees to a large, multi-limbed maple. Isis, the Egyptian goddess of fertility and Osiris’ wife can be found under some bark behind the tree. If you see an old cement fence post you are in the right place.
