Hangtown Pinwheel

SORRY TO SAY, WE DISCOVERED THIS BOX EMPTY AND WITHOUT A TOP ON JANUARY 28, 2006. WHEN WE REPLANT, WE'LL LET YOU KNOW!

One recent weekend, we were on the hunt for quilt shops to feed “our” obsession when we discovered this delightful place to plant a box--thus the name. When you uncover this hand-carved but very basic stamp, you might want to stamp it several times for a nice little “quilt” of your own in your log book. Easy, level hike, no dogs, kid friendly.

Don’t ask / Don’t tell / No one knows it’s here.

Clue:

On the Main artery, near the bell tower, find the Hidden Passage. Then continue past the River Bank and find the mysterious locked gate behind which is a scene from some library. Immediately and exactly behind this tromp l’oeil is what you seek. Don’t even think about climbing over the gate; go around. When you find the BIRDS, you’re very close. From here face the gate you can not see, stoop low and feel for IT with your right hand about 18 inches off the ground. The hours are M-W 10:00 - 5:00, Th - S 10:00 - 7:00, Sun. 10:00 - 4:00. There’s a restroom behind you where you’ll find privacy.
