Rte 195 to Bassetts Bridge road at Mansfield Center. The parking lot is where you begin. ( Not at the boat launch) Follow the Paved road into the park this is easy walking stay with the road 20 minutes. One small grade down a hill then along until you first glimpse the ball fields and Stop! There is a ski trail sign here. Do not go straight but instead turn right. Past a tree with arms outstretched, which is at a 3 way intersection. Go right here for the Nipmuck trail. Continue on the Nipmuck Trail and it will turn left soon and so should you. Follow blue dots until you pass a steep drop at the right edge of trail. Don't take the short cut down the hill - stay on the Nipmuck. Pass by here carefully, then look for a tree lightning has struck. It is 20 feet into the woods. Look left before the trail winds right down the hill again. You will have to bushwack to this 10 foot remains of a tree. You'll find your quarry behind it. Stamp in secretly , replace and go on. Folow the blue dots of the Nipmuck. Up and Down through Pine woods deep ,all round about, to the beginning you meet.
