the Forgotten Monuments letterbox was mown in the spring of 2006. I am leaving part of the directions in the hope that I can restore the box soon--in the meantime it has been replaced by the Camas Hill letterbox, q.v.

Few make the visit to this out-of-the-way spot, but it’s a rewarding one. It's on a commanding butte with splendid views and in the spring the entire hill is covered with bright blue camas lilies. Bring a picnic.
Finding Willamette Heights Park may prove more challenging than finding the box itself. South Second St. is the continuation of Pioneer Parkway. Follow it south toward Dorris Ranch Park (also a letterboxing destination), but turn left on South D St. A right on South Fourth St. will lead you up the rather steep hill. At the end of S. 4th, take Union, then Perry, following a very small sign that says “Park”. Near the top of the hill, turn right onto Valley View, and you will find yourself at Willamette Heights Park. Park near the sign.
