This box is missing as of 9/28/06. Will try and get ot replaced as quickly as possible!

This is our first letterbox placement and it is located in Columbus, Texas.

From Interstate 10 West (from Houston), take the Highway 71 (Business) exit and take a right. A short way down Highway 71, take the right fork in the road at Spur 52 (aka Milam Street). Proceed down this road to the Courthouse Square. While you are in the Square, you might want to visit the various historical markers and the Confederate Memorial Museum. The Museum is a tower that was built in 1882 out of 400,000 handmade bricks for water storage.

Continue down Spur 52 (Milam Street) and then take a right on Highway 90 (aka Walnut Street). Continue down Walnut Street crossing over a bridge. Turn right into Beason's Park on the Colorado and proceed to the circular drive by the covered picnic area. Take the sidewalk to the right of the picnic area to a monument marker to the right of the sidewalk. From this point, proceed down the sidewalk for 50 steps. Turn left and walk the perimeter of the park for 125 steps. Turn left again and walk 18 steps to a multi-trunked tree (in a "V" shape). The letterbox is hidden in the tree approximately 5' high. Please rehide well.

Happy hunting!
