Clues:

Hidden Falls is a 60 foot falls in Oconee State Park, 624 State Park Road, Mountain Rest, South Carolina. From Walhalla, drive northwest on SC 28 for approximately 8.4 miles and bear right onto SC 107. Continue on SC 107 to Oconee State Park. A park fee is required. A small parking lot is provided across the road from the Foothills Trail entrance (holds 3-4 cars) which is beyond the entrance to Cabin area 14-20. Register, then start your hike on the Foothills Trail. Adequate signs leading you on the Hidden Falls Trail are provided.

After about ten minutes you will cross Station Mountain Road. After re-entering the woods the trail forks. Take the left trail. Twenty minutes or so from this point, you will come to a few steps. Go to the right on a dirt road for about 70 yards and then left onto the trail. The trail remains easy for about ten minutes more and the final 20 minute stretch is a little steeper, switches back and forth on a narrow edgy, somewhat crumbly path although not too bad if you are careful. When you can hear the falls you know the end is in sight. At the end of the trail as you face Hidden Falls the treasure is located to the right under a slab of rock disguised by a few smaller pieces of rock.

Enjoy the view along the way. The round trip hike takes 2 to 3 hours.

Bring an ink pad and pen.
