Take highway 191 heading North from Moab and look for signs going to the Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. Turn left on Highway 313. Follow Highway 313 until you see a large blue sign for an information pull off around mile marker 14 on the left. Park in the lot near the information kiosk.
Standing under the small metal sign that reads “Plateau Country Prop No 1395.01” that is posted to the kiosk point your compass to 70 degrees. Take 40 steps or 20 paces at 70 degrees. You should be standing near a tree and a few rocks. Walk over the large flat rock and under the bottom you will discover the “Winged Spirit” letterbox resting.
This box was placed during the Box on the Rocks Moab Gathering and a few people have already logged into the journal. However, the first finder artifact is waiting for the “real” first finder.
