This box is at Alexander Deussen Park in northeast Harris County. The park has a lot of picnic pavilions, playgrounds, a boat ramp to Lake Houston and its own herd of Bison. To get there, take Beltway 8 either south from Highway 59 or north from I-10. Turn right on Lake Houston Parkway (not West Lake Houston Parkway). Follow the signs to the park You’ll turn right into the park and then go left. You’ll pass through the equestrian area and then into the picnic area, following the signs for the Bison/Buffalo pen. Just after Pavillion 11, pull into the parking area on your left for Restroom 5.

Clue:
Cross the street and follow the asphalt trail. Turn left and follow the trail to the Buffalo pen. After you’ve looked, head back. Eight steps after you cross the culvert, turn left and go 13 steps off the trail to a tree with a hole at the base of it. The mini box is hiding in this hole, discretely covered by bark. After stamping in, please recover well.

This park can be busy on the weekend but is usually deserted during the week. The box should be easy to retrieve, but discretion could be required. Follow the usual safety precautions.
