This box is in the Coconino National Forest near I-17. From I-17 take exit 298 and drive east on Forest Road 618 for about 1.3 miles. Park in the large pullout on the right (southwest) side of the road just before the Red Tank Draw bridge.
From the pullout you will see an old dirt 4-wheel road going southwest up the side of the hill. Walk up this road. It will gradually curve to the right. You will soon pass a low road cut on your right with layered red rock. From the south end of the road cut, continue on the road for about 165 more steps to where the road appears to end at a very very small shallow dry stream/drainage channel. You will see a large cluster of Prickly Pear Cactus on the right side of the end of the road (it is up against the base of some layered stepped red rock). From the north side of this cactus cluster, go at about 320 degrees (from mag. north) up hill for about 93 steps to a large lone Juniper Tree. The box is on the northeast side of this tree under rocks. Be very alert for snakes and scorpions!
Please please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag) and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide the box well under the rocks and cover it with some plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.
