***NOTICE***
I'm afraid Red and his companion have been planted in a very poor location. I was leaving the state at the time, and rushing to get up to Oregon, and just stuck these boxes in the first place I found that even remotely worked. Unfortunately, this place is (apparently) far worse in condition than when I saw it, now with garbage everywhere and riddled with poison oak. Last report is that these were missing, but, truth be told, the person who set out for these probably couldn't even get anywhere near the hiding spot, and I don't blame them. I'm going to attempt to replace these boxes someplace entirely different, but have no idea when that will happen. Wish me luck!

While traveling the U.S. Pacific Coast, I happened across Rainbow Brite and her friends, the Color Kids. Every 80’s child, and lots of people besides, will remember the cartoon girls and boys who provide color for Earth to make it “bright and beautiful.” I found all these colors on my travels, and you can find them and Rainbow Brite and the Color Kids, too!

Please let me know if you attempt to find these boxes! I cannot check on them all, being too far away, so please let me know how they are doing, and take along a rescue kit in case they need some repair! Thank you!

Red Butler and Lala Orange Letterboxes

Red and Lala can often be found together. Red is on his way to Red Bluff and Lala on her way to Orange County (yes, I plan to move them someday) but they decided to have a little date beforehand at a place somewhat fitting for both of them.

Hike Difficulty: Really easy (about 10 feet from your car, give or take...it’s more about the pretty drive!)
Clue Difficulty: Easy
Dogs: Yes (no scoop stations)
Bikes: Not really any biking room, and not a good idea on Hwy 101

Directions to Location:
On Highway 101 near Hopland, CA. Just south of La French St., and just north of where the Russian River crosses Hwy 101.

Directions to Box:
There is a turn-out on the east side of Hwy101 between La French St. and the Russian River. Pull into it and park near the middle, where some of the green belt comes closer to the highway. Behind the biggest tree on this protrusion of the greenbelt, hidden by sticks, are both the Red Butler and Lala Orange letterboxes.
