Difficulty: Moderate (creek crossing or walk down busy highway)
Distance: about 1/4 to 1/2 mile

Status of Mini-box: Alive and Well on 3/15/2006

The "Porky Pig" Mini-box is located along the Barton Creek Greenbelt, near the 360 loop and Hwy 1 intersection. The area is great for hiking, biking and rock climbing.

Directions:
Just off Hwy 1, near the intersection with Loop 360, is a parking area in an office park for the Loop 360 access to the greenbelt. Park here.

To the Mini-box:
You have 2 options. The first is to hike down the main trail to the creek. Toward the Hwy 1 overpass is a low water area you can wade across (do not try if water is up). The other option is to walk on the Hwy 1 bridge across to the other side, then go down the drainage to the trail along the creek. Either way, once your on the trail, go away from the bridge (with rock ledge on your left and creek on your right). Travel about 1/4 mile, and look for a medium sized island in the creek on your right, with a trail going out onto it. Go another 58 steps past this trail and look to your left at the rock wall that has come closer to you (about 20 yards away). Find the large cactus plant hanging down over the ledge (it will stand out). Go to the wall, under the cactus. The mini-box is in the wall, about 6 feet up. Climb up, and look left into cavity, behind a rock. Please rehide it well, as many people climb around on these rocks.
