There are still many purple flowers around but, alas, mine is not one of them. So, I've replaced the "box" with one following another of the dominant flower colors in the area. This box has been placed in a slightly different spot once you get to the bench.
This is an easy walk along the bay.
Directions to start:
From Interstate 80, take Pinole Valley Rd. North. Continue on Tennent until you can go no more. After crossing the railroad tracks, park in the public parking lot for Bayfront Park.
To box:
Head for the Pinole Wetland Field Station sign and then along the bay to the right. Keep going till you see a spit of land with a bench on it. You can sit here and enjoy the view. Ok, now down to business. Stand up and take about 7 steps straight ahead till the ground drops of about 1 1/2 feet. Go down to that level and look back and under the big rick now on your right. The prize is behind several smaller rocks.
Watch for lizards and people.
Now you can use the bench for your stamping. As usual, be discreet in picking up the "box" and putting it back.
