We decided to do a ghost town series because we decovered that we have our own ghost (or spirits) that hang with us every day. So we started checking out the ghost towns of oregon and here we are.
How to get there:
If you are coming from the north take I-5 EXIT 35 toward CENTRAL PT./N. MEDFORD.
Turn RIGHT onto W PINE ST.
W PINE ST becomes HANLEY RD.
Stay STRAIGHT to go onto HANLEY RD/OR-238.
Take OR 238 to Ruch, then south on Applegate Road about 2 1/2 miles to the gost town of Buncom.
If coming from the south Take the OR-62 exit/I-5 EXIT 30- toward MEDFORD/CRATER LAKE.
Turn left onto Biddle Rd.
Take the South I-5/W. 62 Exit (far right lane)
Merge to middle lane.
Then take 238 West Jacksonville
Take OR 238 to Ruch, then south on Applegate Road about 2 1/2 miles to the gost town of Buncom.
(You should stop in Jacksonville for a visit. It has some great little shops.)
To find the box:
3 buildings still remain in this ghost town.
Which was started because of the gold rush.
All of the buildings are currently being restored.
But the letterbox still remains.
On one side of the road is a small building and one longer building next to it.
Across the road is a larger building with place you could tie your horse to.
When standing under the covering looking at the building.
There are cement blocks under the edge of the building.
Next to one of these is a big rock. behind that is the treasure you are searching for.
This box don't have an ink pad so you need to bring one.
Take lots of pics while there. You just might see a ghost or spirit in one or more of them. We did.
