This started out as a series of 4. Only 1 remains. It is nice and dry and waiting to be found, as of 12/23/23.
Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Park is located three miles north of Lena and 15 miles northwest of Freeport, Illinois. To reach the park, take Route 20 west of Freeport to Route 73. Go north on Route 73 through Lena, and turn left on Lena Street(Stagecoach Trail). Proceed about ½ mile to Lake Road. Turn right and go north for about 2 miles to the park. This is a beautiful state park located in a small northern Illinois community. I have very fond memories of this place while growing up and try to get back as often as I can. Make it a point to spend the day or weekend. There are many things here to enjoy.
Many residents of Lena walk this 2-mile roadway everyday. Round trip take less than an hour.
One of my memories of high school is located near the beach parking lot. As a member of the track team, we would occasionally come to the lake and run the trails crossing over the dam. Go Le-Win Panthers!! Locate the unisex restroom. Walk to the back of it. Look for the biggest tree. There you will find the Panther Pride stamp, behind the tree under some rocks. Stamp in and hide me well.
