This box is in honor of a friend who came to this park with me several years ago and amused me with her animated admonitions about feeding the alligators. I hid this letterbox at the base of the very tree that we both adored.

The box is located in Brazos Bend State Park, which is south of Houston near Needville, TX on FM 762.

To find the box, park in the first parking lot on the left past the park entrance. There will be a large building with outhouse facilities and picnic tables nearby. Find the bicycle rack to the left of the building. To the left of this bicycle rack is a trail. Follow the trail until you come to a bench on the left side of the trail. You can see where the trail meets up with another trail just ahead. To your right, directly across from the bench, is a large tree with a big limb growing horizontally to the ground. The box is hidden on the back side of this tree, at the base, under twigs and leaves.

Please be discreet, as this is a high-traffic area. Replace the box, making sure the lid is sealed tightly and the box is not visible from any angle.
