Ironstone Vineyards is located just outside of Murphys. Ironstone Heritage Museum features the largest Crystalline Gold Leaf specimen in the world. Weighing forty-four pounds, this specimen of gold was discovered by the Sonora Mining Company on Christmas Day, in 1992, fifteen miles from its current home at Ironstone. Crystalline Gold is one of the most rare of precious natural gold formations. The "Gold Pocket", as it has come to be known, is 98 percent pure, making it a specimen of exceedingly high quality and value.

Heritage Museum Hours:
Winter: 11:00am to 5:00pm
Summer: 10:00am to 6:00pm
Closed: Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years.

Ironstones Vineyards features a tasting room, wine caverns and breezeway tours, gardens and gold panning.

Clues to Letterbox:

Make a left after driving through main entrance. Gold panning should be on your right, follow alongside trellis walkway to exit. Park in Symphony Lawn parking. You should see a rock wall to the right. Count 6 trees in front rock wall (start from inside grounds) go to wall behind 6th tree and look for a big white rock on top of wall. Now look for a pinkish rock in wall just under white rock. Remove pink rock and look to your right. EUREKA! Gold Fever Letterbox! Please place pink rock in same spot.
