12/3/2007 The sign has been replaced!!!! Yahoo!

This is a drive by approximately 20 miles north of Mojave on Hwy 14.

On the south side of Jaw Bone Canyon store and on the west side of the road there is an outrageous sign of a Reubenesque woman that faces northbound traffic on hwy 14. Heading west count 7 upright rusted fence posts from the silver upright post nearest the western edge of the sign and you will find this desert tortoise under a movable rock.

If you want to see a live desert tortoise drive a mile further up 14 to the BLM Jaw Bone Canyon office and they have one in front of the office.
This location has portpotties, information and a coke machine! We walk the dogs here too.
We monitor our clues and boxes pretty well and appreciate the notes written to us by those that find or attempt our letterboxes.

Please contact placer directly or through the LBNA chat list regarding status rather than unofficial databases.
