Hike length: Very short – drive-by.
(Carved by Maine Mom of 123 Family)

UNAVAILABLE. Box has been pulled due poison ivy taking over the spot. The box has been pulled for now - may be re-planted elsewhere - sometime, but probably not at this location.

Gold! It was a cry first heard in North Georgia in the 1800's. It was a cry heard again a few summers ago on a scenic lake not far from the hills in which prospectors first discovered gold.

Regular visitors to this park may be interested in works by Halberstam or Kiesling. If you are lucky you may catch some activity of that kind here, as it is one of the few locations of its sort in Georgia. Sometimes groups from colder climes may use its facilities in the winter or spring. They tend to gather in groups of 8, 4, or 2 but can also be seen alone.

Etes-vous prêt? Partez!

Turn left into park. Stand next to light pole across from first row of parking spaces with building to your left and two green electrical boxes on your right.

Walk forward at roughly 40° about 77 mommy-sized paces (counting each time a foot touches the ground) through the spaced pines until the biggest grove of trees & bushes are on your immediate left. Turn left (or about 320°) and look for two pines growing right next to each other on the edge of the grove with a fallen branch between them.

Go around the back, behind this tree and look under the fallen tree branch. The box is hidden under a piece of bark and some sticks.

There are plenty of picnic tables on the other side of the park to stamp in at. Please re-hide better than found.

Also, there will be times when this venue will be quite busy. Please be discreet. Also gloves are recommended, as there are lots of thorny bushes in the hiding area. Thanks!
