Directions: Head into the center of Rhinebeck New York. Get on Route 9. From the south take a left on Montgomery Street; from the north turn right on this same street. It eventually changes names and becomes Mt. Rutsen Rd (there is a bit of a sharp turn here stay left). Look for a white sign on the left hand side of the road about 1.5 miles along. Park in space provided. Be sure to leave prior to dusk. The park has a tower.

BOX 3 Clue change

Clues:

After following the yellow trail to the second building on the left, that has a pump to the left of it, take the blue/yellow triangle faintly marked path on the right. Walk staying left at the turn. At the next intersection turn right. Pace 16 times to a 3 sister maple on the right. The box is on the left, in front of a small boulder. This is box #1(Found 2023).

There is a path on your right as you get back onto the main trail. Ignore it and continue on stopping before a right hand bend in the trail. On the right side off the trail, is a giant grey. Search the bottom left under rocks for box #2. Please be careful finding and hiding this box as people seem to come around the bend quietly.

Continue on the same trail for a while. As you go uphill you may begin to see a tower on the left. While on the slope of this short hill you will note a side trail on your right and left. Take the right and continue straight. When you arrive at a very large tree on the left, turn 180 to walk offtrail to a boulder type ledge. In the crack lies #3. After stamping in head up to the tower and check it out. In most cases it is open. Enjoy the stamps and the view!! Please rehide carefully. Contact me if the boxes need care.

Hike length: 1-2 miles
