An easy, short paved walk. Dog and stroller friendly. There is a park fee.
DIRECTIONS: From I-84, take exit 211 or 216 and travel north following signs to the Lake Walcott State Park/Minidoka Wildlife Refuge. It's about 16 miles from I84. Enter the park and pay your fee at the gate. Follow signs to the Day Use area (take the first right after entering the park). After passing the power plant on your right, look for a small brown sign that reads "Scout Area" on your right. Immediately after that sign, park in the parking lot on the right with the lone power tower.
CLUES: From the parking lot Shrek headed east on the paved path between the handicap signs. At the fork, he stayed to the right. Heading N/E and along the lake, he waved to the picnickers. He stopped at the overlook on the lake and watched his feathered friends. Then he continued on to the next overlook, where he found his hiding spot. At the beginning of the ramp, to the right (southwest) side, count 10 narrow posts and look underneath for Shrek. There are rocks placed under there to keep him in place and hiding under the board, so he can't be seen from above. When you leave him, please be sure he is well hidden from those walking on the ramp, as well as from the side.
