From US15 you would take Rt. 94N to Mount Holly Springs (8.6 miles). Turn left on 34 and go 2.7 miles. At the Twirly Top Ice Cream shop, turn right on Pine Grove Road and go 7 miles. You will soon enter Michaux State Forest and Pine Grove Furnace State Park. At the 233 intersection turn left. Go .1 mile and turn right onto Old Shippensburg Road (this is across from the Pine Grove General Store). There will be a parking area at the end of the road (1.3 miles) which will be at the trail head for Sunset Rocks Trail. You will need to climb over a mound of crushed blacktop to get to the trail head. There will be a sign on the tree that directs you to Sunset Rocks Trail Loop and states that it is a 2.5 mile loop. You can do the entire loop or go to the top and return the same way. The loop is a great hike with part of it on the AT.

1. Follow the sign for Sunset Rocks Trail marked with a blue blaze. At a moderate slow pace it will take you 15 minutes to get to the top.
2. At the Y in the trail, bear left.
3. At the top of the mountain turn left and walk about 5 minutes across the ridge of the mountain.
4. Take a break and enjoy the view on the rocks.
5. Standing at the rocks, turn and bear 70°.
6. Go 33 paces E by NE.
7. Turn left and go straight North 14-16 paces.
8. Here you will see a dead tree with a big rock at it's base. Look
under the rock to find the hidden box. It has a black lid.
9. I hope you have a great hike!
