Alive and well 5 JUL 2005.
This box is located in Memorial Park Arboretum and Nature Center. Trail maps are available in the Nature Center for 25 cents, but you may be able to get a "loaner" if you ask.
To find the letterbox:
Walk the Outer Loop Trail until you come to the junction with the Birding Trail. There will be a bench at the intersection. Facing the bench, turn to your right and walk a few paces until you come to a white culvert pipe that runs under the trail. Standing on this culvert, look to your right (40 degrees magnetic) and you will see a large pine tree about 12 paces off the trail. Behind this tree is another large pine tree, about 8 paces away. The box is hidden at the base of this tree, on the back side, covered by branches and twigs.
Please be discreet, and seal and cover the container well after stamping in.
