The Brandywine River Museum located in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania collects and preserves American art with primary emphasis on the art history of the Brandywine Valley, on American landscape and still life painting, and on illustration. The museum's collections have grown to more than 2,500 works of art by hundreds of artists and thousands of other objects in the N.C. Wyeth House & Studio. It also contains the largest collection of N.C. Wyeth's artwork.

I encourage you to visit the Museum and their collection of early American art; You will not be disappointed. There is a nominal admission fee.

Strolling the grounds and the beautiful brandywine creek is free. This is where you will find two letterboxes. The hiking is flat and easy; Total length of trail is .3 miles; Perfect for families.

John Chad House (Box #2)
From Brandywine River Trail Box #1, return to trail and continue upstream. Walk under the road of the horseless carriage and start your stroll over still water. At the end of the boardwalk search for the large millstone. From the center of the millstone strike 240d and walk 11 true paces to mini me. As inconspicuously as you can, search the rafters on your left. Please be careful of the nails sticking through the roof! This is a microbox, bring your own ink.
