The Brandywine River Museum located in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania collects and preserves American art with primary emphasis on the art history of the Brandywine Valley, on American landscape and still life painting, and on illustration. The museum's collections have grown to more than 2,500 works of art by hundreds of artists and thousands of other objects in the N.C. Wyeth House & Studio. It also contains the largest collection of N.C. Wyeth's artwork.
I encourage you to visit the Museum and their collection of early American art; You will not be disappointed. There is an admission fee: Adults, $8.00; seniors, students with ID and children ages 6-12, $5. Free for children under 6 and Brandywine Conservancy members.
Strolling the grounds and the beautiful brandywine creek is free. This is where you will find two letterboxes. The hiking is flat and easy; Total length of trail is .3 miles; Perfect for families.
Brandywine River Trail (Box #1)
===============================
Locate the trail that bears its name. From the 360 go 310. Follow the gentle path upstream. From the center of the twin towers strike a bearing of 290. Approximately 27 meters you will find a lone tree (you may not be able to walk directly to it depending on seasonal undergrowth). On the south side of the tree search the hollow 2 meters high.
