Directions: In Prairie City follow signs to Strawberry Lake trail head. South on Bridge St and then south on Strawberry Rd. You drive on a dirt road for a few miles so beware. Find the trail to Strawberry Lake. Enjoy the 3.5 mile round trip letterbox adventure. =-) A fun hike up to a beautiful mountain lake. We went in search of Mapsurfers' Strawberry Mountain letterbox, but will have to return one day when there's less snow up there as we weren't successful in finding it. So instead we left this one behind. =-)
Clues: Tromping through the snow I headed up to the lake to see what tracks I would make. I had fun as I left my prints everywhere. Once I arrived at the lake I noticed it was frozen solid. I was tempted to glide across the ice, but instead I followed the trail left around the lake. At the first little crossing, I decided to take a break and instead of crossing I rested in the base of the fallen red wood tree. I love it here and hope that you can come see my cool tracks in the snow.
Please hide me well so I stay here for a while. Let us know how your adventure goes.
