THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT AND DID THIS SERIES. IT HAS NOW BEEN PULLED.WE ARE ENJOYING READING ALL OF THE WONDERFUL COMMENTS.

O Christmas Tree

THIS SERIES IS ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL CHRISTMAS.AFTER THAT IT WILL BE PULLED!!

This is a five (5) box series. There is only one (1) log book. It is at the first box. The remaining boxes are all microboxes with only a stamp. Please bring along Christmas colors for the stamps. I would strongly suggest green/yellow/red and a few others. Maybe purple and blue.

Find your way to the Trumbull Cemetery, located on Route 207 in Lebanon, CT. This is where you will find the perfect tree.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree!
How are thy leaves so verdant!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
How are they leaves so verdant!

Tree:
Enter through the main gate, and turn left. Walk along the wall until you come to the corner. From this corner go 13 paces along the stone wall towards the back of the cemetery. STOP. Look to your left, low in the wall. There, behind one (1) rock and sandwiched between two (2) others is your tree. After stamping into your log book, color in very lightly with the green crayon that is in the box.

Not only in the summertime
But even in winter is thy prime.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
How are thy leaves so verdant!

Star:
You will now need to head West on route 207 to the 4-way intersection. Turn right onto route 87 and you will immediately see the parking lot for the library, church and green on the left. Pull in here and park. Now it is time to walk.
Start on the path to the right to head in a counter-clockwise loop. Walk along this beautiful green and enjoy the sights. There is a lot of history here. When you get to the point where the path turns back towards the parking area-DON'T. Instead, continue across the grass to the monuments at the end of the green near the intersection. Find the stone with a plaque dedicated to the memory of the patriots of the American Revolution. Squat down as if to read the sign. Reach to the left of the stone and you will feel a small (fist size) rock. Under this rock is your star.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Much pleasure doth though bring me!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Much pleasure doth though bring me!

Ornaments:
Every tree needs ornaments. Now go back to the path and continue in the direction that you were walking. Keep looking to the right for The War Office. It is a small red building across the street on the right. When you locate it, cross the street to it. Go up the stone path to the door. On the left side of the door is a plaque. When you are through reading it, look down at the left side of the steps. Squat down and look behind the steps on the left side for your ornaments. There are two (2) small rocks concealing them.

For every year the Christmas tree,
Brings to us all both joy and glee.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Much pleasure doth though bring me!

Candy Cane:
Continue walking back to where your car is parked. It is not time to leave though. Instead, you need to cross route 207 using the crosswalk by the front of the church. You will be walking towards the Town Hall. To the left you will see a flagpole on top of a monument. Go to this monument and with your back to the church admire the red and white stripes. Hey, that reminds me of a candy cane. Now, go to the left side of the monument and read about the Revolutionary war. When you are done, look to your right and see a tall bush in between two short bushes. Under this tall bush, pushed back quite a bit is your candy cane.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!

Presents:
Now for the part that all of us 'kids' love-PRESENTS!! Cross back over route 207 (again using the crosswalk) and head right, once across, down the road. Ahead and to the left you will see two (2) large Christmas trees. The 1st one you come to is the one that is lit up on the first Sunday of December and remains lit throughout the holiday season. The building behind this is the Jonathon Trumbull Library. Looking at the library, you will see a set of doors. From the right side of these doors, count seven (7) bushes going right and stop. Your present(s) are beneath this bush. It is easier to access the box by going to the other side of the wall and reaching under. Please stamp this stamp as many times as you want to get presents.

Each bough doth hold its tiny light,
That makes each toy to sparkle bright.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly

~We hope you have all enjoyed bringing home the perfect Christmas tree. We wish all of you a very happy holiday season.-Flutterby & Roalie Goalie~
