Box replaced August 4, 2007. New directions below. Have fun!

Sterling State Park is the only state park on Lake Erie. It offers swimming, boating, fishing areas and wildlife viewing. Bird watching is popular near the lagoons and marshes.

Take I-75 to Exit 15 and drive east to the park.

Drive past the entrance gate.
Go past a turtle crossing sign.
Go past a snake crossing sign.
Turn and drive towards the smokestacks.
Go past another snake crossing sign.
Park in the "Trail Head and Fishing Piers" lot.
Walk across a brown bridge.
When you get the "Lotus Pavillion" stand in the center and read about Lake Erie's marshes.
Use the free binoculars to spy on marsh waterfowl.
Then walk SW on the paved trail.
Look for the 0.2 mile marker.
Turn around and walk 18 paces back the way you came. Stop and look left towards the water and spy a pile of rocks and a large concrete block. Walk to these rocks and take a seat on the large square block and enjoy the view of the water.

When you know you're alone, turn around and look behind the big rock that is located behind your seat. What you are looking for it there.

Watch for joggers, walkers, and birdwatchers. This area can be very busy during nice weather. Please find, replace and hide the box carefully, watching for snakes.

Easy walk- 1/2 mile round trip, paved sidewalk
There is no inkpad in this box. Please bring one along.

Good luck and happy hunting!!
