This box was placed on our way to Thanksgiving dinner. We often stop here on our way to Corvallis, and I often had looked at those trees and wondered why there wasn't a letterbox there. This is a driveby box, perfect if you're traveling south and need a quick letterboxing fix :)

HOLMAN STATE WAYSIDE
Historically, the old territorial road of the 1850's passed through this wayside enroute to Dallas and points south. A spring on the property was used as a watering hole for people and their livestock. The wayside is covered with a stand of fir trees overlooking the Willamette River.

Vital stats
There is no fee to use this park. Facilities include restrooms, potable water and picnic tables

Location:
OR 22, 4 mi. W of Salem
Lat.: 44.9325 N
Long.: -123.120555 W

To the box:
Standing between the handicap parking signs, step off the pavement. Take 100 steps uphill. (Like I said, just enough to stretch your legs after being cooped up in the car). To your left is a tree with nice open roots a little bit up the hill. In it's nice open roots is a small box. (Not HH friendly). Please make sure to rehide it well, it could be vulnerable here if it's not carefully hidden!

Happy hunting!
