Bring the children and enjoy the park.

On I-5 in Everett take the Mukilteo/ Whidby Island Ferry exit which is Route 526. Head west and take the Seaway Blvd. exit, at the 3rd set of lights take a right into the Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary.

Everyone who knows me knows that I love to go walking. One day after work I went walking at one of my favorite places. I wanted someone to go with me but no one could. As I started walking I was pleasently surprised at how beautiful the day had turned out and that I didn't mind walking alone. I stopped on a little bridge and was admiring the view when I realized I wasn't alone. There in front of me was a little green frog. I asked him what his name was and he said he didn't have one and liked it that way. We visited awhile and shared a few laughs and he even did a dance for me and then hopped away. I go there often to visit him and now you can too.

From the parking lot face the restrooms and then look to your left. You'll see an informational plaque at the beginning of some trails. This plaque has a map of the park on it. Take the trail on the right, this will take you through a Mud Hut that is actually an Interpretive Shelter with viewing portholes. Follow this trail and take time to read the plaques. You'll come to another intersection and you'll take the trail on your right. You will cross a bridge (yes this is the bridge). After the bridge you will come to a set of stairs on your right that will take you up into an outdoor classroom. Step off the boardwalk directly opposite the stairs and look under it. You will find a black pot that looks like a log. There you will find the frog with no name.
2nd box:
Continue on the boardwalk and trail until you find another set of stairs on your right, before you go up them look to your left and see if you can see the Beaver working on his dam in the stream. Now go up the stairs and follow the path to the perimeter trail. Take the trail on your right and follow this trail a good distance. You will soon come to a small forested grotto with a little park bench to sit down and enjoy your surroundings. Directly behind this bench is a tree stump and a fir tree. In between the stump and the tree you will find a sleepy little bee buried under some brush. Make sure you cover him good so he doesn't get chilled. To return to the parking lot either follow the trail around or retrace your steps. All directions will take you back to the parking lot.
