I'm told the log book is full so if you could, please take some paper or another small book to add to the box. Thanks.

Easy, flat walk along the Farmington River. Shouldn't take much more than half an hour.

From the intersection of Rt. 10 and 44, go south on Rt. 10 for less than 0.1 miles, turn into the driveway for Nassaus. Going straight you'll see a blue sign at the beginning of a dirt road. This is a good road but might not be plowed in winter, so if you have to walk in, add another 0.3 miles to the walk. Park at the turn around before the gate and read the plaque on the rock near the water dedicating this canoe ramp to the town of Avon as an Eagle Scout project. Yea, Boy Scouts !!

Walk along the gravel path just beyond the gate coming soon to a soccer field on the left. After passing the fields you'll start to see yellow blazes on the trees. Keep following yellow along the river passing a picnic table and fire ring, until you come to a culvert on the left with lots of red blazes. A skinny tree to the right has a yellow triangle on it designating this as part of the Avon Town Forest. From this tree (I'm told that the sign on this tree is missing, but counting from the culvert area should put you in the right place) walk back along yellow the way you came for 75 steps, look right for two cut logs with a stump between them. In the center of the stump, covered with obvious letterboxing bark is what you came for.

Make sure you cover well, this looks to be a party spot. Thanks.
