W hen you go north on Daniel Webster Highway from Nashua to Merrimack.
I t will be a left turn onto Baboosic Lake Rd.
L eft at the Heritage Trail sign onto Currier Rd.
D ead end to a small parking area.
C ontinue down the trail on foot keeping right.
A t the river take a left & follow the shore.
T he name of it is the Souhegan River.
F ollow the trail and go up the stone steps.
A t the top of the hill take in the view.
L isten to the roar of the falls.
L ook down to the right to a point of rocks overlooking the falls.
S ee a rock on a rock at the end of this point.
B ehind an old log under the top rock.
O pen the box and leave your stamp and a note.
X -country skiers come visit in winter.
The Souhegan River is about 35 miles long. It flows north from Massachusetts into New Hampshire and then east to a confluence with the Merrimack River, passing through a half-dozen towns, including the center of Milford, New Hampshire
The river is used for water supplies, hydropower, and recreation. There are 28 threatened or endangered species sharing the watershed with 35,000 people. It is part of the New Hampshire Rivers Management Protection Program.
