1/09/06 The box is missing again! Thankfully during our November maintenance we had a chance to see that we had indeed received some visitors. We need to change this one as it is just too hard to keep the box hidden and to be discreet. Check back soon to see what our 4-H club decides to do.
8/16/05 Our box is back in order and waiting to be found. Please e-mail me if you find it--we love to hear fellow letterboxers.

This is the first box planted by our 4-H club, Crafty Scientists. We hope you like it.

Get a little taste of Silverton. This box has been placed in honor of Silverton Bobby, an honored dog in our community. Hope you have as much fun finding this box as we had planting it. Please beware, and be discreet when retrieving the box and stamping up--it's a busy place. Tell all your friends about this letterbox. The great hunt is on.

CLUES
Pass between two stone towers and enter Coolidge-McClaine Park. Free parking, but don't bother after dark. Proceed on foot SE to the loop.

Boulder guards the bridge-cross if you dare. Trail forks, veer left, avoid the stairs.

Take the low road, flowing with the creek. You are on your way to the Old Flour Mill remains. Nice place for a rest while you get a drink and read the plaque. Keep on the trail, you'll come to its end at City Hall parking lot with the Silverton Appeal-Tribune straight ahead.

Cross the parking lot, stop at sidewalk. Proceed about a block. Warning! Watch out! Bike racers coming at you.

Keep on walking--look who's here--Bobby's getting really near.

Take a look at Bobby, keep on going his murals looking at you.

Back up to pass through the door in the wall.
No bikes, no boards, no blades at all.

Cross the creek, stay on the trail, pass the donor sign
and everything's fine--
DO NOT leave the trail, DO keep feet on concrete--no need the bushes to beat.

Watch for TP on merging sidewalk square. Stand on that square then proceed towards the creek. Count 15 squares and on the 15th stop-the letterbox you are almost on top.

Everything is green, but only one right near the sidewalk is EVERgreen. No need to leave the sidewalk trail, just bend down and reach toward the center of the evergreen. Wrapped in black, hard to see, a small peanut butter jar waiting for thee.

Have a seat on the bench, be discreet, stamp the logbooks--hope the discovery has made your day sweet:)

Since now you've found our box and you might need a rest, go back toward the restroom, which you just went by. Enter the parking lot, Methodist Church is across the street. Don't go that way. You need to turn and face the statuary place. Proceed South you are on Fiske Street. Keep walking that direction at the end take a right. Now you're on Coolidge the two stone towers are almost in sight.

We hope this letterbox hunt made your day bright. We hope you enjoyed a few of Silverton's sights.
