Battle of the Bands – The Beatles!
Donated by Talking Turtle of the Alphabet Bandits, NY
Planted by Hikers & Hounds

Well, who doesn’t know absolutely everything about the Beatles already? Four lads from Liverpool, who started as a cover band playing American rock and roll songs by Chuck Berry, Little Richard and others. Then developing a sound all their own and eventually becoming what most music aficionados agree is the most influential band of all time. Whether you love the energy and simplicity of their earlier songs like “I want to hold your hand” or prefer their more complex ground breaking efforts like “A Day in the Life” there is hardly anyone on the planet who doesn’t know and like at least one Beatles song. How many bands can say that? To find the Fab Four letterbox follow the directions below.

Tyler Park, Newtown, PA

Difficulty level – Moderate, long walk and a couple of hills.
Time – Approximately 45 minutes round trip. (If you’re just hunting this box)

Park at the Schofield Covered Bridge parking lot. Entrance is on Swamp Road past the main Tyler Park entrance and Bucks County Community College.

Head down hill and follow the path through the bridge. Stay on the main path up past the Hostel as it turns into a paved road. Walk up the lo-o-o-o-o-n-g hill. Are you panting? Getting a good cardio workout? H&H sure did planting the box! At the top the trail curves to the left. Stay on it. (Rumor has it there is another box around here somewhere. H&H has searched twice and has yet to find it! It’s not a Battle of the Bands box though.)

Anyway, take the White Pine trail off to the right when you get to it. When you see a trail that goes off to the left take it. A short way in you will see several fallen trees on your right. One huge fallen tree has probably the largest root system I have ever seen above ground, it’s truly massive! In front of the tree you will see two thin upright trees with a long fallen log wedged between them. As of 10/3104 there was a Safety Zone sign on the tree on the right. Go to the where the log is laying between the two trees. Look behind the tree on the left and under the log. Listen closely, the Fab Four is just beginning a rousing version of “Roll Over Beethoven”

Box is wrapped in camo, please CAREFULLY re-Wrap and re-hide. Email Talking Turtle at cshouse@optonline.net and let her know what you thought of her box. H&H thinks it’s “Fab-ulous”!
