Stevie Ray Vaughan was an explosion of musical brilliance born October 3, 1954 and died tragically in a helicopter crash on August 27, 1990 while on tour with Eric Clapton. Even though the song that was his life was cut short, his influence on the American Blues scene will never be forgotten. Ever since bursting on the national music scene with his breath taking debut album “Texas Flood” in 1983, Stevie Ray Vaughan continued to re-define the blues Texas-style up until his tragic death. He mentored many younger artists during that time, most notably Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Stevie also recorded quite a bit with his brother Jimmy Vaughan of The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Their duet album “Family Style” had two hits, “Telephone Song” and “Tick Tock”. But most people will remember Stevie Ray best for his blistering guitar intro on “Pride and Joy”, one of the most perfect songs of any musical genre, ever. Stevie’s untimely death deprived the world of all of the fantastic music he still had in him. All we can do is listen to what he left behind and be grateful for all that he gave us.

The Sky Is Crying Lyrics
by Stevie Ray Vaughan

The sky is cryin'
Can't you see the tears roll down the street
The sky is cryin'
Can't you see the tears roll down the street
I've been looking for my baby
And I wonder where can she be

I saw my baby early one morning
She was walking on down the street
I saw my baby early this morning
She was walking on down the street
You know it hurt me, hurt me so bad
Made my poor heart skip a beat

I've got a real real real real bad feelin'
That my baby she don't love me no more
I've got a real real bad feelin'
That my baby don't love me no more
You know the sky, the sky's been cryin', ya
Can't you see the tears roll down my nose

Difficulty level – Moderate, one hill.
Time – About 30 minutes round trip, if you’re only hunting this box!

Park at the Schofield Covered Bridge parking lot. Entrance is on Swamp Road past the main Tyler Park entrance and Bucks County Community College.

Head down hill and follow the path through the bridge. Once you’re through the bridge turn left. If you like, stop a minute and read the sign that tells about the fire and restoration of the bridge. When you’re through continue on the path until it forks. Take the path to the right. Soon you will see two tall, straight trees standing opposite each other on either side of the path. Stop and look off the path to the right. See the fallen log? Walk to it. Are you there? Good, the box is not here! But if you listen closely you will hear some guitar riffs that’ll give you goose bumps coming from behind the dead tree with no bark ahead and off to the right a little.

Box is wrapped in camo, please CAREFULLY re-wrap and re-hide. Email Red Bing at redbng@aol.com and tell him how cool his stamp is. It’s his “Pride and Joy”.
