In a small New Hampshire town
with a name that includes a car
sits a castle on a hill
that's not easily seen from afar
A railroad magnate, Kimball by name
decided he liked this town
so he built a castle overlooking a lake
and made it his summer home
Now the castle was to be a "look-alike"
of a German one he had seen
it was to be made of stone
so he hired an Italian mason team
Some stone was quarried in Concord
and still more was cut on site
it was hauled uphill by ox and horse
they worked both day and night
An "on site" quarry can be seen today
on the south side of the hill named "Locke's"
the trail with a gate is the way to go
if you want to find this letter box
Your quest begins where 11 and 3 diverge
drive toward the early morning sun
soon an airport on your left you'll see
in 4.26 nautical miles you've finished your run
Turn right into the parking lot
park, stretch and look around
select your trail (you know the one)
plenty of clues abound
About a tenth of a mile along the trail
a blue arrow can be spied
then shortly after that
a woodpecker becomes your guide
Follow it from 15 to 12
for about a quarter mile
above quarry pond you will be
and now you can begin to smile
With your left shoulder against 12
determine your path through the trees
get out your compass and find a bearing
of one hundred thirty five degrees
Along this bearing way out in the woods
a very large boulder is at rest
on the opposite side from where you stand
is the object of your quest!
