Alive and well 27 JAN 2005.

This microbox is in Martin Dies Jr. State Park, Cherokee Unit (Day Use area), near Jasper, Texas. The park is located on Highway 190 between Woodville and Jasper, at B. A. Steinhagen Lake. The Day Use area is on the west side of the bridge. Camping areas are available on the east side of the bridge.

To find the box: Go to the Day Use area (Cherokee Unit) on the north side of Highway 190. Drive past the boat ramp and park somewhere near the restrooms.

From the restrooms, walk 120 degrees (magnetic) to the two little utility buildings. One is brown, one is green. From the green building, walk 230 degrees (magnetic) to the picnic table. Directly south of this table are some fallen logs. Beyond the logs is a large tree with a big hole in the side. The box is wedged in this hole, about 2 1/2 feet off the ground.

Watch for snakes and alligators! Please be discreet and replace the box as found. I would appreciate notification when you find this box.
