Quarry Quest was alive and well. Would someone like to take this over? I have moved to FL. Contact me ken.typemill@embarqmail.com
Take NH Route 101A East or West to the Milford Oval. Follow signs to Route 13N. Immediately after crossing bridge (Souhegan River) turn right (Amherst St,) then take first left onto Summer St. Go up hill to end of Summer St. to dead end. Park here -- please do not block any driveways. Do not try to drive on the dirt section. Walk up rough dirt roadway to dead log piles on left and right sides. Just beyond left and right log piles turn left onto narrow up hill trail until it levels off (approx. 5-7 minutes). Trails are not marked. Bear right at this leveling off spot. 310 degrees from north. Go over dead logs. Follow this trail (old cart road) downhill. Trail splits aways down, take either one. You will come to a large smooth granite area (slippery when wet). At 5-7 minutes from level area you will come to a small quarry on your right. Find the main pole and look up and then follow the guy cable DOWN trail to its base (northeast and 39 steps). It is wrapped around a large tree base with three large trees growing out of it. 3'+/- from the cable and 1-1/2'+/- from 4" dia. tree find a rock (12" x 4" x 4". May be covered with leaves. Lift up rock. Here you are. Replace rock carefully and throw some leaves over it and follow trail back the way you came. Please contact placer.
