http://www.tsereteli.ru:81/about/ :

“It is at the turn of the Millennium that Tsereteli Zurab Konstantinovitch, the President of the Russian Academy of Art (RAA), has been awarded "The Man of the Year" by the Russian Biographical Institute and his name entered into the list of the most noted people who greatly contributed to the development and prosperity of Russia in the last decade of the century.
However, the highest "regalia" of this outstanding artist, sculptor and designer are his artworks displayed throughout the world. Many of them have become a part not only of the Russian but also world art legacy. The Russian people and foreign guests show equal interest in the master's monumental work and easel paintings. The artist's works are distinguished by the expressiveness, brightness of their colors, the striking quality of their sculptural forms, the richness of their compositions, their clearly defined decorativeness. Tsereteli's creative activity is filled with the sensation of the joy of life. It is this inexhaustible optimism, this assertion of existence as a precious gift that, maybe, more than anything attracts the viewer. The master's talent is multi-faceted. He loves to experiment with various materials. It would be hard to name a genre or technique at which he has not tried his hand. He has made sculptural compositions in bronze, copper and marble, produced stained glass compositions in simple, broken or optical glass, mosaics which gave him fame and elicited praise from Alfaro Siqueiros, a Mexican master of the mosaic of the 20th century; cloisonné enamels in the ancient technique masterfully revived by him.
Also, Tsereteli's sculpture, created in honor of the Special Olympic Games for physically challenged children, is displayed in Brockport, New York.”
