Keowee Toxaway State Park is located on Hwy 11 just north of Six Mile, SC.
On Hwy 11 the park is on both sides. You want to go to the camping section of the park. Follow the signs for Tent camping and park in 2T parking space if you can. If not you will have to park at the Raven Rock hiking trailhead. There is a $2.00 fee. If you park at the Raven Rock trailhead, you will need to hike to the Tent camping area. Follow the roads as if you were driving then follow the directions below. From the directions below, it is about a 1 mile hike. Going is ½ mile down and back is ½ mile up. There is some up hill scrambling to get to the box location. The kids had no problem with it….I was pooped after climbing back up but then again, I am incredibly out of shape 

One the road just before you get to 2T tent camping site is a set of small rock stairs that leads to a path on the left. This path takes you to the lake. Follow this path. Soon you will go under 1, 2, 3 small trees that over hang the path. Be looking for a beautiful stream that trickles in from your right into a small pool of water. Stop and take a picture 
Before long you will come to a trail hazard, a LARGE tree has fallen across the path. Climb over and around this tree and continue on the path. Evidently you will be able see the lake through the trees on your left. There are 2 more fallen trees across the path. Go under one and over the other one. STOP. Count 7 paces (2 steps) and look up the hill to your right. See the big rock with the tree growing RIGHT in front of it? Good 
The Gang is hiding at the base of that tree under the overhang of the rock. It is covered by a rock, leaves and branches.

Please be careful. Although this is not a busy trail, people do hike on it so be very discreet.
(There is a shorter way to get here for those who are not able to make the longer hike. Email me and I will tell them to you  castleacademy@charter.net)
