Find the La Crosse city park that is also home to many non-native animals.

***Massive Flooding*** All boxes appear lost at this time. 6/14/08

Old Well
Reported missing.
Start at the ancient “turtles”. To the north, find the trail map and locate the Old Well Trail. Walk west to the paved trail near the dog park. Follow this trail north to the Old Well Trail. At the end of the Old Well Trail, have a seat. At 270 degrees there’s a larg birch tree. Take 26 paces towards this tree. At 25 degrees there’s a small deer path. Follow this in to a stand of trees. Three sets of power line poles are in the marsh to the north of you. To your right find the old well—you won’t be able to toss any pennies into this well. From the well, walk 11 paces at 95 degrees. The Old Well Letterbox is tucked inside the end of a long fallen log that’s closest to the marsh.

Rabbit Trail

After finding the Old Well, return to the paved path. Continue north taking the first right turn. Follow this path east to a very large tree where the trail turns south. Continue south down the trail. Take the first right. Have a seat and look out toward the water. To your left there is a large fallen tree. Walk along its eastern side to the base. Please rehide well.

Wood Duck
Reported missing.

From the Rabbit Trail Letterbox, return to the main trail. Walk south. Before you get back to the parking lot, there will be a trail on your left. A short way down this trail, you’ll pass another trail on your right leading back into the park. Ignore this and continue straight ahead. From the end of the second footbridge, take 222 paces to a tree on your right. The Wood Duck is hidden in the base of this tree. Please cover well so the box cannot be seen.

Have fun!
