Status of letterbox: Alive and Well 8/4/05!!!
The "Lucky Dog" letterbox is located in George Bush Park, in west Houston. The box is actually in the section of the park called "Millie Bush Bark Park", which is a dog park area. This is a great place to take your dog to, and pick up an extra "Lucky Dog" box.
Directions:
From I-10 west, exit Hwy 6 and go south to Westheimer. Turn right on Westheimer and go to the 1st light. Turn right here on Westheimer Pkwy. Go 1.4 miles, then turn left into Millie Bush Bark Park. Park on the left side of the lot as you pull in.
To the Letterbox:
Walk on the cinder path heading east. Continue around the curve and go south until you reach the next curve. The path now will head back west, but you should leave the cinder path here. Go Northeast along the ditch for 95 paces, until you reach a large tree just across the ditch. Jump across the ditch, and stand on the back side of this tree. Now go East at 90 degrees for 6 paces to a tree near the barbwire fence. The box is on the back side of the tree, held in the air by small branches. Please rehide well, and watch out for the stickers.
